Iran (ChattahBox) – Following three mysterious videos released by a ‘missing’ Iranian scientist, where he said he had both been abducted and held against his will in the U.S., and that he had defected, and was living comfortably as an informant, Iran says they have evidence that it was the former.

The videotapes were shown on different sources: the first was a grainy tape shown in Iran, where the image in unclear, but it resembles Shahram Amiri; the second is a man appearing to be Amiri speaking clearly and opening, posted on Youtube, where he denies claims of kidnapping and says he had defected; the third features another slightly grainy image of the first man from the original video, saying he could be rearrested at any time, and is in danger.

According to the Telegraph, Iran has since sent mysterious ‘evidence’ to the Swiss embassy, which they say proves Amiri was kidnapped by the CIA, drugged, and brought to the U.S. by plane.

The reason for either the kidnap or defection is believed to be related to the finding of a previously unknown secondary uranium enrichment plant in Qom. This discovery strengthened the opinion of most of the international community that the country was seeking nuclear weapons capabilities.

There has been no statement from either the U.S. or Swiss on the evidence, or what it might be.
