One of two missing US sailor’s body found in Afghanistan – Other may be captured

July 27, 2010

(Chattahbox) – One of the two U.S. Navy officers who disappeared on Friday will be returning to his family in a coffin, the Telegraph tells us.  Justin McNeley, a non-commissioned officer, was last seen driving into Taliban-controlled territory with another sailor in an armored SUV.  Nato officials couldn’t say what the two men were doing in that area.  McNeley was supposed to be returning, alive and well, to his family in the U.S. in August.

Taliban claim to have captured the other sailor, Lt Col Todd Breasseale.  They say he is “in a safe place where he will not be found” and mentioned Spc. Bergdahl, an officer from Idaho who is known to be in Taliban captivity.

Nato is offering a reward of $20,000 to anyone who can provide information about the soldiers’ location.
