Pakistan Plane Crash Leaves 152 People Dead
July 28, 2010
Pakistan (ChattahBox) – The BBC is reporting that the tragic plane crash near Islamabad has left no survivors, the death toll having climbed to 152.
The domestic flight was carrying mostly Pakistani passengers and crew, and two Americans visiting the country. The names of those killed have not been released, but authorities have confirmed that it was an Airblue flight, and the plane was an Airbus A321.
Officials with the airline have denied any technical problems with the plane prior to the crash, saying that everything cleared checkpoints, and that no communication with the pilot indicated any trouble while in the air.
The cause of the flight is under speculation, but they have reported that there was intense fog in the area at the time of collision, which occurred just prior to landing.
This is the largest Pakistan air disaster to date, and we at ChattahBox offer our condolences to the family of the dead.
