Iranians Test Launch Missile Day Ahead of Opening Russian-Built Nuclear Plant
August 20, 2010
Iran (ChattahBox) – Iranian relations with the U.S. are becoming more shaky by the day. The NSA and CIA announced the other day that there have been secretive flights to Caracas from Tehran since 2007, John Bolton has suggested that Israel attack their nuclear facilities within the week, and they are on the verge of opening their first nuclear power plant. Now, they may have antagonized the world a little further by test launching a nuclear missile.
The Telegraph reports that the Qiam (Rising) missile was shot in the air from a secluded desert area amid shouts of “Allah Akbar!”, meaning “God is great!”
“The missile has new technical aspects and has a unique tactical capacity. Since the surface-to-surface missile has no wings, it has a lot of tactical power, which also reduces the chances of it being intercepted,” Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi said.
This comes one day before they are set to launch their first nuclear power plant, which was Russian-built, and has caused controversy with many in the West.
Iran has long since claimed their nuclear journey is a peaceful one, purely for the sake of energy production for further development of their country. However, intelligence sources have uncovered secret uranium enrichment facilities and scientists working on the projects who claim that Iran is seeking weapons capabilities.
