Iranians Exploit Female Hiker For Cash From U.S.
September 12, 2010
Iran (ChattahBox World News) – Did you think the initial arrest in Iran of three American hikers who are alleged spies was disgusting? Just wait until you hear their ransom plan.
Iranian prosecutors originally said that they would be releasing one hiker, Sarah Shourd, yesterday (Saturday), but then retracted the release, saying her “legal issues were not yet resolved”. Now, they say they will release her once they receive a $500,000 bail from the U.S.
The other two hikers, Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal, are still facing charges of espionage and there are no plans for their release, despite their 13 months behind bars.
Just the charges themselves are ridiculous. The three hikers were picked up by guards, who eyewitnesses say crossed into Iraq over an unmarked border to drag them over into Iran. The arrest was overseen by a man now in prison for a number of brutal murders and kidnapping charges.
Now, to know that they are holding a ransom for the release after the U.S. refused to trade prisoners is a further show of the corrupt nature of the Iranian judicial system.
