Spain (ChattahBox World News) – Two men who are believed to have been responsible for a long list of crimes, including as many as 200 tortures and murders in several countries, have been arrested in Spain as part of an investigation into Colombian cartel members in the Valencia region.
Henry Norberto Valdes Marin, also known as Pollo [Chicken] and Mauricio Alberto Gonzalez, also known as Ronco [Husky] were arrested by Spanish officials acting on tips from the Colombian government, who said the two were likely hiding in Spain to avoid capture.
Marin has been associated with hit group La Negra, who are responsible for murders in at least eight countries, and act on behalf of the Norte del Valle cartel.
Gonzalez, who is now in a wheelchair after being partially paralyzed in a shootout, is associated with the Envigado cartel, acting as an enforcer in paramilitary group AUC. He is best known for murders involving chainsaws.
Both men are some of the most wanted in Colombia, and Spanish officials say they are the two most dangerous to ever be arrested in the fight against the South American drug trade in the country.
Colombia is seeking extradition, and they are being held without bond until the orders are approved.
