Bin Laden wants Relief Body for Muslim Countries
October 1, 2010
(ChattahBox World News) A new audio tape was released by terrorist group Al-Qaida, supposedly featuring its leader, Osama bin Laden, in which he talks about the formation of a relief body that will help Muslims all over the world who were injured in wars and natural disasters. The speech, entitled, “Pauses with the Method of Relief Work,” shows a still image of Bin Laden and scenes of people in disaster zones receiving aid, came in an 11 minute, 39 second video likely produced by al-Qaeda’s media arm, as-Sahab.
In the message, which appeared on jihadist forums Friday, governments in Muslim countries are criticized by Osama bin Laden for spending a lot of money on armies and not for the benefits of the citizens.
The Al-Qaida leader says on the tape that a “capable relief task force” should be established to deal with disasters in Muslim countries and to study regions at risk from flooding and climate change. The new tape comes after other al Qaida leaders have accused the Pakistan government of failing to provide for its people after massive floods in the country killed hundreds and left some eight million people homeless.
The tape would be Bin Laden’s first public comments since March, but its authenticity has not been confirmed.
