First PayPal, Now Swiss Bank Dumps WikiLeaks’ Assange
December 6, 2010
(ChattahBox World News)—Notorious anarchist, egomaniac and WikiLeaks’ founder Julian Assange is getting more cold shoulders from the international community, after leaking thousands of stolen U.S. diplomatic cables. Today, his bank in Switzerland closed his account, because Assange supplied false address information when opening it. This action follows the freezing of his PayPal account for engaging in “illegal activities” and the ejection by Amazon.com from its servers. As the walls start to close in on Assange, he is threatening to release a cache of uncensored stolen files, he calls a “poison pill” or a “thermonuclear device,” he is using as an insurance policy against prosecution for his whistleblower activities.
The Guardian has the story on the account closing.
“PostFinance has ended its business relationship with … Julian Paul Assange,” the bank said in a statement.
“The Australian citizen provided false information regarding his place of residence during the account opening process.” [..]
“WikiLeaks had advertised the PostFinance account details online to “donate directly to the Julian Assange and other WikiLeaks Staff Defence Fund,” giving an account name of “Assange Julian Paul, Geneve”
Assange’s operations have also been subjected to repeated cyber attacks, leading the hosting company Everydns.net to give WikiLeaks the boot.
Swedish authorities have also issued an international arrest warrant for Assange, where he is wanted for questioning on rape charges.
