AOL Seals The Deal With Social Network Bebo

AOL has confirmed that they have sealed the deal to buy the social-networking site Bebo..New York (ChattahBox) – AOL has confirmed that they have sealed the deal to buy the social-networking site Bebo.

The $850 million deal puts AOL in a position where they can compete with the likes of Microsoft and Google, who have both made big moves to get involved in social-networking sites.

AOL beleives that Bebo users, along with AIM and ICQ users, can combine to make for a social-network with plenty of ad space, content, and more.

AOL CEO Randy Falco talked about the acquisition of Bebo stating “When you combine Bebo’s worldwide users with those who use AIM and ICQ, we reach around 80 million,” talking about the size of the potential social-network.

Bebo is the most popular social-networking site in the UK.
