Fios TV is being seen by consumers in New York City as something that they want as it allows for another option for consumers.

The Franchise and Concession Review Committee (FCRC) voted unanimously to allow Verizon to roll out Fios TV in areas of New York City, giving Verizon a major boost to go forward with their plans.

Verizon is hopeful that they will be able to convert many who are signed up for cable and satellite TV services, bringing them to Fios TV.

Verizon senior VP for New York and Connecticut Monica Azare said in a press release “If we are successful in the last steps of the approval process, we will deliver on our promise to begin offering Fios TV in parts of each of the five boroughs later this year.”

Verizon’s Fios TV has proven mighty popular in many markets across the U.S. and getting into New York City would be huge for the company.
