532,000 Jobs In The Private Sector Lost In May

June 3, 2009

US (ChattahBox) – June has begun, and the numbers are in for the month of May. Sadly, they are not the positive results the US was hoping for.

According to the economic report on Yahoo for May, private employers laid off or fired 532,000 employees, a small decrease from April’s final tally, and much higher then many expected.

The number shows that despite a sudden increase in consumer spending, as well as house sales on the rise, the economy is still rapidly plummeting, and that the job market in particular is under serious strain.
