Mercury To Become Latest Ford Model To Be Phased Out

May 28, 2010

Michigan (ChattahBox) – Ford may be phasing out their Mercury brand, a move that has long since been rumored as they continue to cut their models.

Ford has been denying any plans to junk their Mercury model, but they have repeatedly cut the brand over the last several years.

Now, further cuts are expected, and Bloomburg has published a story claiming the brand is set to be phased out completely.

“Our plans for Mercury have not changed. We constantly assess our business portfolio, and if things change, we’ll let you know,” Mark Truby, a spokesman for the company, said in response to the report.

But that does not address the fact that only two Mercury models will be manufactured by next year, which seems to backup the claims that they are finished.
