Man Arrested After Putting 911 Call On Hold To Sell Drugs

February 4, 2009

Ohio (ChattahBox) – In yet another bizarre 911 story, a man who called the police to report two men with guns watching him has been arrested after asking the dispatcher to hold while he sold them heroine.

The call was made on Saturday night, when Alejandro Melendez said he felt threatened by the men. He hung up before the call was complete, and so the dispatcher called back to check that everything was alright.

He asked her to hold, but did not cover the phone, and so in the background his conversation could be heard. He asked the men if they were looking for a ’10-pack’, slang for heroine.

The dispatcher alerted a patrol, and they arrested Melendez, finding a significant amount of cocaine on his person.

No arraignment date has been set.
