Millionaire Gets More Then $140,000 In Fines For Speeding

March 10, 2009

Finland (ChattahBox) – A Finnish millionaire got more then he bargained for when he decided to go a little to far over the speed limit.

Jari Bär was taking his Porsche approximately 51 miles an hour in a 37 zone when he was pulled over. And given a ticked for 111,888 euros ($141,661 US).

How could this have happened? In Finland, there is no such thing as a maximum fine, or even a set one. Everything you pay through the courts is a percentage of your income. As a millionaire, you can imagine how much higher a 12-day salary for Mr. Bär would be, compared to someone who worked a blue collar job.

There is no word on whether or not he intends to contest the fine.
