Feds Seek Wall Street Analysts

April 8, 2009

(ChattahBox) — The New York Society of Security Analysts (NYSSA) will be holding the first ever Federal Careers: Opportunities for Financial Professionals event. This career fair brings together NYSSA members and government agencies that are seeking qualified finance professionals to help them meet the current economic and regulatory challenges that face the globe.

Unemployed Wall Streeters will be looking at a pay cut working for the government, but will have a chance to do something a little more noble perhaps with their skills. The SEC for example will be looking for many more analysts to help prevent the next Bernard Madoff Ponzi scheme from happening.

As an indicator of the times, it is expected that the career fair will draw some 400 job seekers from across the finance industry and at all career levels. Agencies represented at the jobs fair include the FBI, FDIC, Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Government Accountability Office and the SEC.

The Federal Career Fair will be held on Friday, April 24, 2009, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at NYSSA 1177 Avenue of the Americas, 2nd Floor, NY, NY. A complete agenda and further information is available at www.nyssa.org.
