Family Reunited When Adopted Son Moves In Across The Street

May 22, 2009

US (ChattahBox) – Many of us choose not to believe in fate, but if you asked Candace Eloph and Jamie Wheat, I bet you they would say it exists. The two long lost siblings ended up living across the street from one another.

Jamie Wheat’s mother gave birth to him at 16, and decided to give him up for adoption. It was a hard decision that she had always regretted, and she searched for him for decades, always hoping to find the son she lost.

For 30 years she was unsuccessful, until one day her daughter, Candace, had a conversation with a man who lived across the street from her home.

“We were sitting one day, talking, and she said ‘You know what? I had a brother born January 27, 1977, that was adopted,'” Jamie Wheat told CNN.

“I was like, I’m adopted.”

As they delved deeper into both their pasts, details began to match up, and they decided that there was enough in common that a DNA test may be needed.

The results of that test were positive. They were brother and sister.

The reunited family can now be found getting to know each other, mending what was once broken.

“I can move forward. Like a new beginning,” Wheat said.
