Alabama Bans Wine For Logo Of Nude Nymph

August 1, 2009

Alabama (ChattahBox) – Alabama liquor officials have set the state back a few hundred years by banning a wine that features a nude nymph on the bottle, saying that it shows “a person posed in an immoral or sensuous manner.”

The Cycles Gladiator is well known for their logo of a nude nymph on their bottles. It shows a nude woman floating behind a bicycle as she holds onto the handlebars.

The logo is not particularly graphic, and certainly wouldn’t be called obscene by most. In fact, it shows much less than the collection of nudes you would see in any classic art gallery.

One has to wonder if Alabama will be taping up cardboard clothing on those paintings in the future.
