Three Men Spend A Week Lost At Sea, Live To Tell The Tale

August 31, 2009

Texas (ChattahBox) – Three fisherman have been saved after a week lost at sea. Though their circumstances were dire enough to make anyone give up, the three men say that prayer and hope got them through.

The three men, identified as 28-year-old Curtis Hall, 30-year old James Phillips, and 40-year old Tressel Hawkins, spent a week out at sea after their boat capsized.

According to the men, they had been asleep in the boat when it began to fill up with water. They awoke, but before they could do anything it flipped over.

Not only did they face hunger, heat, and terror, but they were faced with the proof of a search, which yielded no results. Hawkins told The Dallas Morning News that the three of them had seen helicopters for days after they disappeared.

“I have no idea why they didn’t see us.”

The men lived off of a few bags of chips, some crackers, and a six pack of beer. Though not much, it was enough to get them through until rescue boats found them over the weekend.

All three are expected to make a full recovery.
