Cop Charged With Molesting Children Walks For Molesting Cow

September 28, 2009

New Jersey (ChattahBox) – The former cop charges with molesting three little girls over the course of a five year period with his ex-girlfriend has been let off for a different charge, stemming from the videotaped sexual activity with a cow. The logic? Cows can’t talk.

Without getting into a philosophy debate over the nature of deviancy, most would agree that Robert Melia is a sick man. His alleged molestation, as well as the video content on his computer showing a young girl being sexually assaulted, would confirm such a standard diagnosis.

But when police found a video of his forcing a calf to give him oral sex, a new charge was administered; animal cruelty. As New Jersey has no laws against this type of sexual activity with animals, it was all investigators could do.

But prosecutors were unable to prove to the judge that the cow had been hurt by the action, and so Melia was freed on the charge.

According to Judge James J. Morley, cows cannot speak (which was an especially astute observation from a man charged with upholding the laws of our society), and so the calf could not consent or protest.
