US Town Elects Dead Man As Their Mayor

April 16, 2010

Tennessee (ChattahBox) – Carl Geary might have died a month before he could finish campaigning for the post of mayor in little Tracy City. But that didn’t stop him from winning.

Geary, a local councilman that passed away weeks before election day came, won 285 to 85.

The decision was said to be a protest against the current mayor, Barbara Brock.

Brock was elected as an interim governor from within the council itself, after the former mayor died of a heart attack. She was the first female mayor in the city’s history, as well as a non-local. She is best known for her attempts at beautifying the city, and her call to crack down on security issues and rampant drug use in the region.

But Brock is far from popular, as is shown by the fact she has been beaten out by a man who cannot lead. Her time as mayor has been filled with scandal, including the questionable development deals. Now, the council will have to once again elect an interim mayor.
