Narnia: Prince Caspian took in $19.3 million on its opening day, Friday.

The film opened to nearly 4,000 theaters on Friday with a huge day of sales raking in nearly $20 million.

Reports state though that from there, the film is still doing slightly lower than expected.

It is also behind the original film, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, which opened to $23 million on its first day.

Iron Man is still performing strongly as it also took in $8.6 million for its first day, passing the $200 million mark domestically.

Warner Bros. film Speed Racer continues to struggle though pulling in under $2 million on Friday.

The official numbers should be released later today for the total weekend earnings.
