Wesley Snipes managed to get free just one day before he was ordered to report by June 3 to begin serving his 3-year prison sentence.

He has been granted bail, meaning that he will not have to serve his 3-year sentence until his appeal is carried out for his case involving him failing to file income tax returns.

U.S. District Judge William Terrell Hodges called his decision “dubious.”

The judge believes that by the time the appeal process is done with, Snipes could have served the entire 3-year sentence.

Attorneys for Snipes argued he is working to try and resolve all IRS issues when asking for the bail.
