Indiana Jones Earns A Record $311 Million Worldwide

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull has managed to bring in a record-setting $311 million worldwide over the holiday weekend.. Washington (ChattahBox) – Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull has managed to bring in a record-setting $311 million worldwide over the holiday weekend.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull beat out the previous record-holder War of the Worlds which took in $202 million over the July 4 holiday weekend in 2005.

The movie came in second in terms of Memorial Day weekend openings, behind only Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.

Indy missed that record by just $2 million taking in $151 million compared to $153 million for Pirates.

The film cost Paramount $185 million to produce, but that has all been made back and them some with the earnings to date.

The first three Indiana Jones movies brought in $1.2 billion around the world.
