A handwritten prequel to the Harry Potter novels by J.K. Rowling sold for 25,000 pounds, around $48,000 at a charity auction in London on Tuesday night.London (ChattahBox) – A handwritten prequel to the Harry Potter novels by J.K. Rowling sold for 25,000 pounds, around $48,000 at a charity auction in London on Tuesday night.

The 800-word prequel was handwritten by J.K. Rowling and was signed by the famous author herself.

The signed piece from J.K. Rowling states “from the prequel I am not working on, but that was fun!”

There were over 100 guests at the invitation only auction called What’s Your Story?

The auction was run by Sotheby’s auctioneer Edward Rising at the Waterstone branch in Piccadilly.

The 42-year old Rowling stated she will not make a full prequel to the Harry Potter novels, which have sold 400 million copies worldwide.
