The movie stars the adorable Abigail Breslin, best known for her role in Little Miss Sunshine.

Critics have stated in multiple reviews that the 10-year old Breslin does a great job on the role, coming across as very sweet and sincere.

The movie, for those who do not know, is based off of the popular dolls and tie-in books from the American Girl line.

This is the first big-screen adaptation off of the franchise, which aims at its demographic nicely.

The movie takes place in the times of the Great Depression in Cincinnati. You meet Kit Kittredge, along with her dad played by Chris O’Donnell and her mom, Julia Ormond.

It ends up being up to Kit to save her family from a whole heap of trouble.
