He will fill in for the open spot left following the tragic death of Tim Russert, and will fill this spot through the November presidential election.

Brokaw will start in his new spot on Meet the Press beginning next Sunday.

The announcement that Tom Brokaw would be taking over came while anchor Brian Williams filled in this past Sunday.

Brokaw reached a deal with NBC following a talk with NBC News President Steve Capus.

The network, to say the least, is thrilled that Brokaw has decided to agree to fill in.

Meet the Press is a huge show for NBC in terms of earning revenue, and Brokaw, being a very popular news anchor, will likely keep the broadcast going strong.
