The Dark Knight is no longer the leader of the box office, as the new Ben Stiller comedy Tropic Thunder has managed to grab the gold medal over the weekend, taking in $26 million from Friday to Sunday.....Washington (ChattahBox) – The Dark Knight is no longer the leader of the box office, as the new Ben Stiller comedy Tropic Thunder has managed to grab the gold medal over the weekend, taking in $26 million from Friday to Sunday.

One thing which The Dark Knight did manage to accomplish was to become the No. 2 movie of all-time, surpassing the original 1977 Star Wars.

Tropic Thunder managed to earn $26 million from Friday to Sunday, after opening on Wednesday.

This was the first time The Dark Knight has been knocked off the top spot for over a month, as it won the box office four weekends in-a-row.

The total earnings for The Dark Knight are now at $471.5 million, which put it ahead of the original Star Wars which was at $461 million.

The Dark Knight earned $16.8 million over the weekend, bringing its total to $471.5 million.

Coming in third was Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which took in $15.5 million.
