Alvin and the Chipmunks Go to the Movies is a collection of the original cartoon series where Alvin and his bros tip their hats to some of their favorite movie roles.  In the first episode we see Alvin playing the role of Indiana Jones.  This episode is titled Daytona Jones and the Pearl of Wisdom.  He and his brothers go along with him on an adventure to Honk Kong and find themselves running for their lives with the signature musical chase scenes, from the evil Roland Bellyache!

In the second episode Simon stars as the Dark Knight in Batmunk where he must battle with the Jokster played by Alvin!  And on the third episode the Chipmunks adapt Robocop in their own personal style with Alvin starring in the title role of Robomunk!  The super hero robot police-munk must battle against the wicked Mr. Pinky played by Theodore.

All three episodes are a great introduction to the new generation of Alvin & The Chipmunks fans.  A generation who may only know of them through a recent live action movie which proved to be a success.  With many more episodes set to come soon on DVD this new generation of Chipmunk fans will soon know what made the Chipmunks so lovable when we were young!

Film: 6.5 The Chipmunks do a great job of adapting these movies to a younger generation and taking them on a number of exciting adventures all the while singing as only the Chipmunks can!

Video: 6.0 Let’s face it these versions of cartoon were not exactly state of the art compared to what we know as cartoons today and not much was done to improve the quality of the film.

Audio: 6.0 I always found it hard to understand what the Chipmunks were saying.

Bonus Material: N/A No bonus material was contained on this disc just the episodes.

Overall: 6.3
