Country Singer Jerry Reed Dies At Age Of 71

U.S. country singer and songwriter Jerry Reed, best known for his roles  in the Smokey and the Bandit films, has died at the age of 71..Washington (ChattahBox) – U.S. country singer and songwriter Jerry Reed, best known for his rolesĀ  in the Smokey and the Bandit films, has died at the age of 71.

He died at his home outside of Nashville due to complications of emphysema.

He had a major role in all three Smokey and the Bandit comedy films opposite Burt Reynolds, and is best known for that work.

On top of that though, he also followed it up with roles in Gator, and The Waterboy.

He was very established on the music scene as well, with big songs such as “When You’re Hot, You’re Hot,” and “She Got The Goldmine.”

He is a three-time Grammy Award winner, known simply as The Guitar Man.
