The Nicolas Cage action thriller Bangkok Dangerous managed to take in $7.8 million, but was enough to win the box office.

The scary thing is that the box office gross for the weekend is believed to total under $70 million, not a good start to the fall season.

Coming in just behind Bangkok Dangerous was Tropic Thunder, the action comedy from Ben Stiller.  The movie took in $7.5 million in its fourth week.

Tropic Thunder was followed up by The House Bunny, which took in $5.9 million.

The top five were rounded out by The Dark Knight, and Traitor.

The Dark Knight took in another $5.7 million, bringing its total to $512 million.
