It must be nice to be so powerful in Hollywood that each and every one of the characters you create in your home can be made into a movie.  Mike Myers latest character, the Guru Pitka is the star of the new film, The Love Guru.

The film itself follows the adventures of the Guru as he is hired to help The Toronto Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup by getting their star player Darren Roanoke back with his wife. The guru Pitka is an American raised by some of the greatest gurus only to be second to his nemesis Deepak Chopra.  The possibility of becoming the greatest guru makes Pitka take on the challenge of getting Darren back with his wife.  Darren’s wife has left Darren to shack up with Darren’s nemesis Jacques “leCoq” Grande, his name says it all.  Grande is played by Justin Timberlake, who as much as it pains me to say this was kinda funny.  As a side story Pitka also tries to get some time with the owner of the Maple Leafs, Jane Bullard played by Jessica Alba.

The story in this film is weak, and filled with overused lame jokes that we have seen before.  Vern Troyer returns to help Mike Myers continue to tell the same jokes used in the Austin Powers movies.  The film also uses the same crude jokes used in other Mike Myers movies, and this whole story could have been better served as a short on SNL, and saved us all 81 minutes.

Film: 5.0

Audio: 7.0

Video: 7.0

Bonus Material: 6.0

Overall: 6.1
