This marks the first time in 16 years that a candidate for president of the United States has purchased primetime network TV time for his own campaign.

The broadcast is going to take place at 8 p.m. on all of the networks mentioned.

There is no word on what Barack Obama actually paid for his half-hour of TV time, but it sure wasn’t cheap.

This will allow Obama to have key TV time just one week before the U.S. presidential elections on November 4, 2008.
