The trial has been delayed time and time again, but the jury selection process finally kicked off yesterday.

The trial is for a misdemeanor charge Britney Spears faces for driving without a license.

Judge James A. Steele was in the court to kick off the jury selection process, as the first pool of 30 potential jurors was brought in.

Britney Spears rejected a deal that would have had her entering a plea of guilty.

The deal would have had her spend a year on probation, and pay a $150 fine.

She was not there on day one, and will likely not be present for the proceedings.
