AC/DC Beats High School Musical To Top US Album Chart

AC/DC is back on top of the U.S. album chart this week with the release of their new album Hollywood (ChattahBox) – AC/DC is back on top of the U.S. album chart this week with the release of their new album “Black Ice” which sold 784,000 copies.

AC/DC enjoyed sales of 784,000 copies of their new album in its first week of release.

This is very impressive considering that it was sold exclusively through Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, and on the band’s web site.

This is the first time AC/DC had a No 1 debut on the chart since 1982.

They beat out High School Musical 3 Senior Year, which enjoyed 297,000 copies sold.

This was followed up by T.I who sold 93,000 copies of the album Paper Trail.

The country music icon Kenny Chesney sold another 88,000 copies of his album Lucky Old Sun.

Rounding out the top five was Metallica with Death Magnetic, selling 52,000.
