Dan Barber Wins Top US Chef Award Of 2009

New York (ChattahBox) – Dan Barber is celebrating this week after being given the James Beard aware for the top chef in the US.

The owner of New York restaurants — Blue Hill New York and Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Pocantico Hills, has been recognized many times for his food excellence, being at the forefront of the ‘farm-to-table’ cooking movement, a way of cooking that promotes healthy, simple ingredients from local farmers.

Known as a pioneer of the so-called farm-to-table restaurant movement, his menus are full of seasonal fruits and vegetables, and only the best local livestock, earning him the respect and admiration of the food world.

Barber was currently named top New York chef, and was nominated for the top spot last year.
