Brooke Shields Accuses National Enquirer Of Expoliting Mother

May 17, 2009

US (ChattahBox) – Brooke Shields is on the war path after National Enquirer reporters allegedly took her mother, who suffers from dementia, out of her nursing home in an attempt to get a story.

Shields is furious that the two unnamed freelance journalists who occasionally work for the tabloid removed her from the nursing home (authorized by the center), and took her out to lunch.

But the journalists say it actually had nothing to do with Brooke, and that they were not there in any kind of official capacity. According to them, they had known Brooke’s mother since the 90’s, and had just been catching up.

The National Enquirer backs this story, stating that the two don’t work for them, but are only occasionally contracted to take on specific pieces. They also said that they have not recently contracted their services.

But Shields still says she will be pressing charges, not only against the reporter, but also against the facility for allowing the outing to take place. Somehow, I don’t think it will get that far.
