Dave Mathews Band Kicks of Tour, With Album Topping Billboard Chart

June 11, 2009

(ChattahBox)—The Dave Mathews Band is poised to have yet another blockbuster summer tour, as its new album just released last week, is topping the U.S. pop album chart, overtaking Eminem.

The new studio album entitled, “Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King” once again, is delighting its die hard fans debuting at No. 1, already enjoying sales of 424,000 copies for the week ending on June 7.

The Dave Mathews Band’s album sales are a bright spot in the otherwise sluggish music industry. Eminem’s “Relapse” started off with a bang, but recently slipped to No. 2, with only 141,000 sales in its third week.

The Dave Mathews Band is embarking on an extensive North American tour, which runs through October. They are playing this Friday, at Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Saratoga Springs, NY.

Willie Nelson & Friends will be appearing with the DMB at several locations, including Tulsa OK and Kansas City, MO.
