Friends and family Bid Farewell to Farrah Fawcett

(ChattahBox) — Friends and family gathered to lay Farrah Fawcett, to rest at a private funeral in Los Angeles. The Charlie’s Angels actress, died in her hospital bed last Thursday at the age of 62, with Ryan O’Neal at her side after a long battle with anal cancer.

O’Neal accompanied the flower-covered coffin on its short journey into the church (Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in downtown LA.), where he joined mourners who had gathered for the Roman Catholic ceremony on Tuesday afternoon.  Close friend  Alana Stewart and Fawcett’s doctor Lawrence Piro delivered the eulogies in front of 200 guests. Among them was Fawcett’s former Charlie’s Angels co-stars Kate Jackson, Jaclyn Smith and Cheryl Ladd (who replaced Fawcett on 70s show) , Garry Shandling, model Cheryl Tiegs, novelist Jackie Collins, Joan Collins and Fawcett’s ex Lee Majors, with whom she reconnected with recently after two decades, were also there. Her 24-year-old son Redmond O’Neal currently serving a conviction for drugs offenses was also able to attend. Ryan and Redmond served as pallbearers and a man in a kilt played “Amazing Grace” on a bagpipe. Redmond also gave a bible reading, according to a program made available to the media.  Rest in eternal peace Farrah!
