Steven Tyler suffered broken shoulder and stitches in his head in fall from stage

August 8, 2009

(ChattahBox) — As was widely reported, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler was rushed to a hospital earlier this week after falling from a stage during a concert at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in western South Dakota. His partner in song, lead guitarist Joe Perry told the AP Friday, Tyler has a broken shoulder and received stitches in his head, as a result of the accident.

The accident occurred about halfway through the performance, after the sound system failed during the song “Love In an Elevator,” according to Mike Sanborn, spokesman for the Buffalo Chip Campground, which hosted the outdoor concert.

Tyler, 61, tried to entertain the crowd by dancing around during the unexpected outage but fell backward off the stage’s catwalk, onto a couple of fans in the middle of what was a record crowd, Sanborn said.

Security rushed to help him and the he was taken backstage and air lifted to a hospital to be checked out.

Maybe it was the bad karma he earned by taking my pen to sign autographs and not returning it?
