Fail: World record firework display goes off all at once

August 21, 2009

(ChattahBox) — An attempt to set a firework world record, at an event in Dorset, England advertised as ‘Roar on the Shore’ turned out to be more like the ‘Snore on the Shore’. Around 175,000 people turned up to watch 110,000 fireworks go up in about 6 seconds. Despite the promise of a long bang that turned out to be a premature fizzle, it may still qualify to beat the current Guinness World Record for the most fireworks set off in record time, which was set in 2006 with 56,645 fireworks in Plymouth.
