Rumor: Glenn Beck on a Forced Vacation?

August 21, 2009

(ChattahBox)—According to the Raw Story and a report from TV Newser, Glenn Beck’s little vacay this week from his controversial Fox News show may not be voluntary. Beck was criticized for calling President Obama a “racist” last month and advertisers have been leaving his show in droves. Perhaps Beck needed a mental health break?

The unnamed source told TV Newser that Beck told Fox staffers that he was “forced” to take a week off.

Beck’s troubles began during a July 28, appearance on “Fox & Friends” where he said, that President Obama has “a deep-seated hatred for white people,” adding, “This guy is, I believe, a racist.” Since that outrageous statement, 20 advertisers have pulled ads from his show, due to a campaign waged against Beck’s hate speech, by the organization ColorOfChange.org.

Advertisers, including the retail giant Wal-Mart, CVS, Procter & Gamble, Best Buy, State Farm Insurance and Travelocity have dumped his show.

James Rucker, executive director of ColorOfChange.org said, “Their action sends a clear a message to Glenn Beck: Broadcasters shouldn’t abuse the privilege they enjoy by spewing dangerous and racially charged hate language over the air. No matter their political affiliation, hate language doesn’t belong in our national dialogue.”

Regardless of whether his vacation was forced or voluntary, Beck’s absence from the airwaves, allows for a welcome break from his right-wing fringe conspiracy theories, hate talk and fear-mongering.

I find it hard to believe that Faux News, the only TV network to ever win the right in court to tell lies and call them news, would force a racist Nazi like Beck to take time off from his hate-mongering.

I am a white person involved in this boycott. And for darn good reason. It’s also one of the few TV boycotts that is working and is still catching on like wildfire. FoxNews must learn that a boy can cry “Fire Fire” in a lie inside a crowded theater and be very popular, yet cause a lot of problems in doing so. I just confirmed that Verizon Wireless is the latest to remove their ads, only one day after I wrote them an email.

Glen Beck is a nut spreading false and dangerous (lies) about our President And our Country. He has advocated “Bin-laden” NUKING AMERICA to “wake up” people, called Obama a racist, he seems to forget Obama is 1/2 WHITE- Claims the Health Care Reform Bills want to unplug senors to let them die, and on and on. This guy may get viewers but he is causing people to act out on his lies just like the nuts that bring their shotguns to the Democrat’s town hall meetings about Health Care Reform. Glen Beck is a dangerous man spreading lies to ignorant people that act out on such lies.

I saw him interviewing a gentleman the other day who claims that when he lost his business the Government wasn’t there to help him out and he had to go on food stamps and welfare! Where do these people come from?
I think Glenn Beck needs to be on some ind of medication. (no seriously)

Its already been widely published that this vacation was scheduled at least a month ago… never mind the fact that this seems to be when the news industry typically takes its breaks (all sorts of guest hosts during the same period). No news here, folks…

Well, to call Obama a racist may not be to far from the truth. The guy associated with lunatics like Reverend Jeremiah Wright for 20 years!!! Recently, he made those comments about a white policeman and his black friend professor being completely in favor towards the black professor and generalizing white cops as racists. I think we can truly say OB is racist by association. The media and this group called colorofchange are only playing a political game. I understand their directors are part of the Obama gang with strong leftist ideals. I wonder if they would be so inclined to defend a white president who, for instance, associated with members of the KKK. Would they be showing the same passion to respect the presidential office? I highly doubt it. This is a hypocritical movement. I wonder when people like colorofchange of the author of this article will question Obamas associations. Are we so blind to believe racism is a one sided coin? This is coming from an immigrant with Latin roots.

I agree with Beck COMPLETELY. Obama showed his racist side over and over… and now his “Chickens are coming home to roost!”

    NOBAMA!

Glenn Beck is filled with hate and contempt for anyone who does not share his right-wing crazy(not to mention mormon) views of the world……message to Glenn: that includes almost everyone who is capable of thinking for themselves.
Fox News has turned into a cult with the zombies sitting down every night so that Glenn and company can fill their little minds.

Glenn Becks untimely and unacknowledged disappearance for the last from Fox News Channel has had people wondering, I asked a spokes person close to Glenn Becks show who stated: “We haven’t seen him in about a week.” When asked if anyone has heard from him, She said, with no emotion, “No”. I asked if anyone from Fox has tried to call or locate Glenn, and again with no emotion,”No”. This seemed very strange to me? One last try, I ask “Has anyone from Fox, or News Corp contacted the police or reported him missing,– “No”, “No wait”, she said, ” His wife called a few days ago and asked if we see him,,,have him grab a gallon of milk on his way home”.

Are we all forced to follow the liberal brainwashing and messianic propaganda? Beck is a hero and his talk is pretty mild. What about Jamie Foxx’s racist and vulgar insults to 16 year old Miley Cyrus? Let’s call for his removal from moviemaking after he calls her a White b***h

I am a whole hearted supporter of Glenn Beck. It pains me to see the left go after the man for simply saying what he believes. No matter how violent the people who run ColorOfChange become they must understand that they must allow Americans to say what they please. It is called the First Ammendment.

  13. pappy on August 24th, 2009 4:37 pm

Why are people even listening to these talking puppets? Dont we have our own minds to think for ourselves.? And even if you want to listen, why would you take advice from someone who is a self admitted alcoholic…?

    beck is a RACIST!!

Glenn Beck’s viewership numbers are not nearly as gaudy as Fox News would have you believe. Even with the recent bump, his audience is a tiny fraction of the American public, and dozens of cable programs, including such worthies as Project Runway,WWE Raw, and Disney’s Phineas and Ferb cartoon routinely draw dramatically larger audiences. For most Americans, Beck is completely irrelevant, just one more grinning scarecrow to skip over while looking for something worth watching. That doesn’t mean he”s not dangerous. Beck’s gargoyle act represents the worst of American political debate. Beck delights in confrontation and bombast. He has nothing intelligent to say, nothing productive to contribute, and tens of millions of reasonable, thoughtful Americans wish he would just go away. WE live in uncertain times. We need voices, on the left and the right, to speak with clarity and intelligence. Declaring that the president of the United States”hates white people,” or joking about poisoning the speaker of the House, or comparing the president’s call for a larger Peace Corps to Hitler’s establishment of the SS is irresponsible, disrespectful and just plain cement-headed. It diminishes our democracy. No wonder more of us watch Phineas and Ferb.

    profititable for Rupert Murdock.
