Dr. Phil Accused Of Sexual Harrassment In New Lawsuit Shocker

October 8, 2009

US (ChattahBox) – A woman has filed a lawsuit against Phil McGraw, a.k.a Dr. Phil, for sexual misconduct and unethical practices.

Sara Morrison claims in her lawsuit that she had been a patient in the late 80’s when she was a depressed and suicidal college student, and that nothing inappropriate went on during that time.

However, when she started working for him as an Intern shortly after (mind you, he was still charging her as a patient at the time), that is when she says the trouble started.

She claims he would pull her into his lap when he was on the phone with his wife, patients, and other doctor, he may several inappropriate comments, had her stand in a room with a man who was exposing his genitals, and even instructed his staff not to allow her to leave.

Yikes.

This story was originally broken by the National Enquirer, which may not seem like a reliable source.

But keep in mind that the tabloid has broken several legitimate stories in the past, such as Patrick Swayze giving up treatment in the last months of his life.

Add that to the fact that a complaint was filed in 1988 against McGraw that appears to have been been by Ms. Morrison, and it does add some legitimacy to the story.

According to the complaint, the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists found that he had been unethically charging a patient despite her employment, having never ended the billing. The sexual misconduct claim was never proven, but that is not uncommon in cases like this.
