Stephen Gately’s death ruled ‘accidental,’ but something doesn’t sound right?

October 13, 2009

(ChattahBox) — Coming just weeks after the eerily similar departure of DJ AM, the death of ex Boyzone singer, Stephen Gately has been declared accidental.

A post-mortem conducted in Spain, where the 33-year old singer was found dead in his vacation home early on Saturday, says he died of natural causes,  by Pulmonary edema, a build-up of fluids on the lungs.

Louis Walsh, who created the boy-band, told the BBC, “We’re all in shock. We still can’t believe it.” He told reporters he last saw Stephen at the ‘Pride Of Britain’ awards in London last week. “I tried to talk him into doing Big Brother, but all Stephen wanted to do was sing in the West End.”

Stephen’s family have since denounced press speculation that he took drugs, drank heavily or had killed himself. Their lawyer, Gerald Keen told reporters, “We are absolutely happy there was no foul play. The family’s only wish is to get their son and brother home as soon as possible.”

Spanish police have now ruled out any suspicious circumstances surrounding the loss. It’s believed Stephen fell asleep on a couch after a night of celebrations in Palma, Majorca and sadly died in his sleep. I hate to be skeptical but something doesn’t sound right about a healthy young man dying of natural causes by Pulmonary edema?

Boyzone members had flown to the island to comfort his partner, Andrew Cowles, but they have since returned home.  With the post mortem completed, Stephen’s body can now be flown home to Ireland, and is expected to arrive in his home town of Dublin sometime on Wednesday.

His death wasn’t declared accidental. It was declared to be death by natural causes. And can you spell liable, btw? People his age do die of things like this. Try doing a bit of research.

Of course it was natural causes. The only other possible cause is a miracle, and God knows we’ve seen few enough of those lately.
