Dennis Hopper Battling Prostate Cancer

October 30, 2009

Easy Rider star Dennis Hopper has prostate cancer, according to his manager, and is canceling all forthcoming appearances for the time being to focus on treatment. Hopper, 73, is being treated through a “special program” at the University of Southern California, and his manager would not discuss his prognosis except to say “we’re hoping for the best.” News of the long time actor’s diagnosis comes a month after he was admitted to hospital suffering flu-like symptoms and abdominal pain. He was released the following day after being treated for dehydration.  The always in demand actor currently plays crazed (his specialty) music producer Ben Cendars on the second season of Crash, a TV version of the 2004 film, and has three movies, Alpha and Omega, A Beginner’s Guide to Endings and Forever, currently in production.
