Jon and Kate Gosselin Now Officially Divorced

December 18, 2009

(ChattahBox) — A judge has ended the misery and has officially granted Jon and Kate Gosselin a divorce in a Pennsylvania’s Montgomery County court after 10-year of marriage.  Kate is said to be “thrilled” with the settlement she is receiving, and according to TMZ, will continue to reside with all eight of her children in the former marital home. Things all around look a lot rosier for Kate than Jon right now. The mother of eight recently made Barbara Walter’s 10 Most Fascinating People list of 2009 and is reportedly working on pitching a new reality show. Meanwhile Jon Gosselin’s lawyer, Mark Jay Heller, recently told that the divorce would not be finalized until at least early 2010.  That may have been wishful thinking as TMZ claims via its sources that Jon is in immediate financial trouble now that the divorce is final, because he got nailed with huge child support payments said to be somewhere in the five figure range and has no real way of paying.  The couple used to earn $12,500 per episode for their now defunct TLC reality show, “Jon and Kate Plus 8.” They also earned income and royalties from the book, “Multiple Blessings.” The Gosselin’s home in Pennsylvania was gifted to them by TLC. Jon is now being sued by TLC network for breach of contract, while a former lawyer is going after him for non-payment of fees, so his prospects are not so good right now.
