Conan O’Brien Will Bring Late Night Talk Show to Cable TV’s TBS

April 12, 2010

(ChattahBox) –  Comedian Conan O’Brien has emerged with a new show beginning in November on TBS, following his bitter late-night war with Jay Leno at NBC.  On his Twitter page, he joked: “The good news: I will be doing a show on TBS starting in November! The bad news: I’ll be playing Rudy on the all new Cosby Show.

His new show will air Monday through Thursday at 11 p.m., taking the current slot of George Lopez’s show Lopez Tonight, which will then move to midnight.

Under a $45 million exit deal with NBC, O’Brien was barred from launching a new TV show before September.

“In three months I’ve gone from network television to Twitter to performing live in theaters, and now I’m headed to basic cable. My plan is working perfectly,” O’Brien said in a statement.

TBS, a division of Time Warner Inc.’s Turner Broadcasting System, said on Monday that O’Brien, who had been in talks with rival Fox for several weeks, began negotiations in earnest with the cable channel just last week.

Thank heavens it’s not Faux Network! I won’t watch anything on the official Nazi Party channel.
