Actor Claims Stabbing Of His Girlfriend An Accident, Despite 20 Wounds

September 11, 2010

(ChattahBox Entertainment news) – An actor who is known for his role in the comedy¬† ‘The 40-Year-Old Virgin’ has claimed that the attack on his girlfriend that led to her being stabbed more than 20 times was an accident, and a case of mistaken identity.

The case is confusing and convoluted, mainly because 45-year-old Shelley Malil says he can’t quite remember what happened the night he nearly killed his girlfriend at her San Diego home.

According to him, he went to her home to find her drinking wine with a male friend, who Malil was sure was going to attack him. When he stood up the actor grabbed a knife tackled David Maldonado. It isn’t clear why he thought he had been prepared to attack him.

Managing to get away, Maldonado went to his car, and Malil says he thought he was going to get a gun. Still holding the knife, he then felt someone hit him on the side of the head, and thought it was the man, or someone else. He turned and started to slash, only stopping when his girlfriend, mother-of-two Kendra Beebe, started screaming to call 9-1-1. She was the one he stabbed.

The court saw photos for the first time of Beebe’s body after the violent attack, and were shocked to see the 20 wounds on her body, CNN reports.

If convicted, Malil could face 21-years in prison.
