Anti-Aging Products: The New Wave Of Beauty Technology

January 22, 2009

Let’s face it, we live in a superficial world. Beauty products are always at the head of the market, and with a culture that is becoming less obsessed with youth, and more focused on enhancing the natural beauty of a mature woman, anti-aging products are all the rage. But the days of painful, dangerous treatments like facelifts, and Botox, are coming to a close, and not a moment too soon. The way has been cleared for over the counter age defense, and companies everywhere are taking advantage of the demand.

There are both pros and cons to these products, as with any other. The main pro is that that you can spend a limited amount of money on a certain product, and get a natural, age defying look, without any long term damage to your skin. This is the main reason that most choose the over the counter anti-aging product over the many surgical procedures that have been used in the past.

The major con is that they work more effectively as a preventive measure, and there is only so much that can be done once the skin has been damaged by wrinkles, age spots, and other signs of aging. It is especially difficult to fight against loose skin around the neck and face, and even the top products will only provide a small improvement.

It’s for this reason that using anti-aging products, such as cleansers, creams, and masks, is an important part of a skin routine before it’s actually needed. Most should begin using age-specific products around the mid-20’s to ensure that skin is well protected over the years, as most skin becomes weak, and begins showing more wrinkles around the eyes, and mouth.

You may be wondering at this point what products are the most effective, not to mention most affordable. A fortunate result of the many brands being released on the market is that you can find some great ones for under $30, and it’s rare that you will have to spend more to find effective anti-aging technology. I will be reviewing these products, so be sure to check back, to read about the best, and worst, on the market today.
