George Bush’s Worst Moment, Really?

November 4, 2010

(ChattahBox Op/Ed) – If I were to ask you,” if you could stand in George W Bush’s shoes, what would you say was the worst moment in the Bush presidency?”. What would you come up with? Would it be lying to the American people to get us into an unnecessary war with Iraq? Or how about politizing the horror of 9/11 in order to keep us emotionally hostage and keep on voting Republican? Maybe it was stripping away our privacy rights under the guise of national security? How about authorizing torture and putting us on the same moral plane as Iraq, N. Korea and Iran (your “axis of evil”). “No” you say. Then it’s gotta be the needless US deaths caused by your stupid war. Wrong again? Then what is it?

In an interview (to be aired Nov. 8)by Matt Lauer of NBC, George W Bush tells Lauer that the worst moment in his presidency is when rapper Kanye West tells the country on a nationally televised benefit show for Katrina victims, “George Bush doesn’t care about black people.”.  That’s it? That’s the worst moment during your time in office? An idiot rapper known for saying stupid things hurts your feelings and it’s your worst moment?!  You are personally responsible for our service members coming home in boxes that you won’t allow to be photographed and that’s your worst moment? That was a disgusting thing to say.

It wouldn’t be inconceivable that he actually didn’t mean what he said. It’s possible that he misspoke and meant to use other words, except he also says it in his new book, “Decision Points”.

Statements like these are why it’s so hard to forgive and forget. The damage Bush did to this country is impossible to forget but forgiveness happens with time. But when he says stupid things like this you recall the stupid things he’s said and the harmful things he’s done.

It’s sad and hurtful to the families who’s son or daughter is never going to come home or to the families who’s lives are still ripped apart first by Katrina and then by the government’s criminally neglectful response, to hear such a statement from such a clueless former president. Please Mr. President, please go back to Waco Texas, pretend your a cowboy and don’t say such a stupid insensitive thing again.

The worst moment of the Bush presidency lasted from January 20, 2001 to January 20, 2009. during that period, George W. Bush was actively an enemy of the American Constitution and the American people.

Once you get past that part of it, Bush’s presidency was about average.

I dont think u really know what ur saying. You talk about Bush authorizing torture but Obama has done nothing to stop it; and what about Gitmo? Then talking about Bush lying to the American people to get us into an unnecessary war? Sir, do u know about Halabja poison gas attack in 1988? How about Gulf War Syndrome and how that has effected the unborn childern of Gulf War Vets? Did u know that Saddam Hussein during the Gulf War launched Scud missiles against coalition military targets in Saudi Arabia and against Israel? Which did kill numbers of US Military Personal along with Saudi and Israel civilians. Maybe u should move to Yemen and live with all those crazies and farleft…..
