A new study has shown that women may be able to beat breast cancer simply by getting active and doing some exercise..Boston (ChattahBox) – A new study has shown that women may be able to beat breast cancer simply by getting active and doing some exercise.

The research was led by Dr. Christine M. Friedenreich of the Alberta Cancer Board, as well as Dr. A.E. Cust of the University of Melbourne.

They looked at data from 62 studies in total and found that the most physically active women had a 25% reduced risk of breast cancer development, compared to women who were not active at all.

Exercise was also found to help those who have a family history of breast cancer, as that factor did not reduce the effectiveness of exercise in anyway.

The only notable instance where exercise was not effective to prevent breast cancer was in obese women.

The research has been published in a report in the British Journal of Sports Medicine.
